About : Andaman and Nicobar Island is a union territory of India consisting of a total of 572 Islands. While most of the island are occupied, some remain uninhabited. It comprises two island groups, the Andaman Island and the Nicobar Islands, separated by the 150km wide Ten Degree Channel. Surprisingly, all of this is a submerged extension of the Arakan Mountains, which lay hidden underwater.

Andaman and Nicobar Island are accessible by air and ship. Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair is connected to Chennai and Kolkata airport. The island can also be reached by waterways. Regular ships leaves from Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam to Port Blair, and the journey takes around 50-60 hours.
